Why: Ocean Isle Beach is a small town just north of the South Carolina border that’s surrounded by beautiful palm trees and located an easy 45-minute drive from the Wilmington Airport. (You can also fly directly into Ocean Isle’s small airport.) You will soon find everything costs less in the south. Stay at an a-frame three-bedroom rental or book an adorable home on the water. Hop on a boat and venture out to the local islands, where you can pack a cooler and enjoy your own private beach all day. Dine on the water at Sharky’s, where you can grab a burger and fries for just $7. Ocean Isle Beach has free parking along the beach, and you can fish the pier for a mere $1 entry fee. 

Take the kids to play 18 holes of putt putt at River Country Mini Golf for less than $10 a person—children under 3 play free. Or do some serious golfing at the Brick Landing Golf Course, where you can play a round for less than $50. If you’re looking for a destination wedding, venues are also very affordable and Upstaged Wilmington specializes in event décor on a budget. The town is also building a new amphitheater where free live concerts will be held every Friday starting Memorial Weekend to Labor Day. This same area located at the end of Laurinburg Street will also have a free splash park for kids and a new playground available by this summer. If you’re looking to invest in property or simply move to the area for affordable living, reach out to Baxter Cheek, an Ocean Isle native who can find houses on the market as low as $350k on the waterway.

COVID 19 & Your Photo Session Options with CJP

We are open for business & still shooting & scheduling sessions

All of us here at Chloe John Photography realize that the current situation with the COVID 19 Virus has caused a disruption for some of our clients. We have published this post to help clarify our policies & best practices for protecting all of the families that work with us. 

1. CLIENT CANCELLATIONS/POSTPONEMENTS

Our studio will be honoring our client’s wishes to change/postpone dates without the 20% penalty we typically apply to re- schedule.

COVID-19 is not anyone’s fault, and as such, we will be allowing clients to move their date (ideally within 2020 but we remain flexible). All future dates are subject to availability, and weekdays are encouraged for portrait sessions. There are no refunds, but there are also no penalties.

2. FOR OUR SCHEDULED SHOOTS

UPDATE: CDC is now recommending cancellation of events greater than 50 people, and the Governor of NC has advised against groups larger than 10. If Our Clients wish to keep their scheduled shoot date, we use the above guidelines for group size.

when we are shooting we maintain “social distancing” of 6 feet. We will refrain from handshaking for the time being!  While we are shooting, we will wash our hands regularly, use sanitizer regularly & provide the same for our clients.  Although much of our photography work takes place in the fresh outdoor  air of local parks, beaches and forests. Our studio surfaces, including doorknobs, light switches, bathroom fixtures & props are sanitized  and wiped down throughout the day and in-between each & every client. We also have a State of the Art Air Filtration System with  UV Light Technology that continually sanitizes the air as it circulates throughout our studio spaces.

3. CREATIVITY REDUCES STRESS

This no-doubt is a stressful time for all of us! If you have a rescheduled your session with us for a later date- Now is a great time to get creative & truly plan the session of your dreams! Look through our website for inspiration, create a pin board on Pinterest & browse Instagram.  Email us some of your favorite poses & images -We love to tailor our sessions to our clients.

We have so many beautiful outdoor local areas to shoot at in addition to our Studio. Together we can help you coordinate shoot locations, clothing choices and any prop options you would like to include. Also if you have had sessions with us in the past, now is a great time to re-visit your online gallery and print your gorgeous photos, create albums, or order photo gifts for your loved ones. We have issued a SITE WIDE 20% discount on all print orders placed now - May 1st.

4. STAY PRODUCTIVE & HEALTHY

This is a difficult time for many families & businesses. But, we’re all in it together. Most importantly take good care of yourself. Eat healthily, take care of your body and get your exercise in, even if it’s at home! Enjoy this quiet time with your family. Count your Blessings. Stay positive, stay hydrated, get enough sleep, take your vitamins especially vitamins  C & D . One of the best ways to protect yourself against COVID-19 and other viruses/diseases is simply keeping yourself healthy!
